A Boarding and Behavior Center

Since opening in December of 2007, VT Dog B 'n' B is growing rapidly. From the nervous dog to the aggressive dog, every dog we meet teaches us something new.

Every activity that takes place includes the entire pack. We start out every morning at 9am for a walk. It doesn't matter if there is 5 dogs or 10 dogs, every dog goes on a walk with a leash. The walk lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. After the walk, all dogs are allowed to rest before they are fed at the same time. Every animal in nature has to work for their food, they have to hunt, fly, or swim to earn it and survive. Walking the dogs first before they eat fulfills their natural instinct. By late morning all dogs are tired, and are allowed to rest again. When early afternoon rolls around, we break out the tennis balls and have a great time with the dogs. All play is supervised by at least one staff member. By the end of the day, they are relaxed and ready to go home to sleep the night away.

As you can see below, any dog that comes through the door at VT Dog B'n'B is considered part of the pack. After eating as a pack, they are gathered together to show them proper leadership. It is amazing to see a new dog fit right into this ritual even on the first day.
